Another month of OwlCrate has come and gone and I’m so excited to share this one with y’all! I mean seriously *SO* excited. If you’re familiar with OwlCrate or my general love for OwlCrate, then you my already know that I think they knock it out of the park pretty much every time. In every box, there may be one item that I won’t get much use out of, but most of the time every single item is awesome and something that I will definitely use. Some of my favorite things have come from OwlCrates (hi, that Forbidden Forest mug, anyone? Edgar Allan Poe socks? The Rock Paper Books edition of Sleepy Hollow? I can’t keep going or we’ll be here all day, but I think you catch my drift).

This month was no exception, because already a couple of the things from this box are my NEW FAVORITES.

First things first, the THEME this month. In case you don’t know this already, I love space. I am obsessed with space. I have a Pale Blue Dot themed tattoo, that’s how into space I am. Anything space/space-y/galaxy print is totally in my wheelhouse. So when OwlCrate announced their theme was Across the Galaxy?

I can’t even explain how excited I was.

And then the box arrived (and I was GRATEFULLY not spoiled at all this month!) and the excitement was totally warranted.

Let’s jump in, shall we?

Guardians of the Galaxy Blind Bag Mystery Mini

I absolutely love blind bags/blind boxes. My favorites are the Harry Potter mystery minis and the Stranger Things mystery minis (both of which I get at Target, if you’re on the hunt). Seriously, it’s just so much fun not knowing what you will get! In this case, we got a Guardians of the Galaxy themed mystery mini from FUNKO. I got Star-Lord, but since I don’t know much about this movie (please refrain from throwing rotten tomatoes at me) I referred to him as “Chris Pratt in a helmet”. Which, in my defense, is technically true. Luckily I have a super awesome friend who has seen Guardians of the Galaxy and informed me that A.) This little guy is Star-Lord and B.) I should probably watch these movies because they’re pretty badass. So I’ll get on that ASAP.

Lunar Chronicles Inspired Mug

OMG.

I literally squealed with excitement when I saw this mug. I realize you may think that’s an overreaction, but trust me. It is not. This mug is so gorgeous. This is one of my absolute favorite quotes from The Lunar Chronicles, The Lunar Chronicles are one of my new favorite series, this mug is one of my favorite colors, the lettering is beautiful and I absolutely love the little spots decorating it as well, giving it a bit of an almost camp mug/wintry vibe. Long story short, there’s a lot of “favorite” going on here. This mug is an exclusive and was designed by artist Sasha Natasha, who does a heck of a lot of epic lettering, if you’re interested.

Illuminae Files inspired candle

There were two candle options in the March boxes, both inspired by female characters from the Illuminae series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. There was an orange one called Kady, and a blue one called Hannah, both created by the candle company Wick & Fable. I received the blue one!

Not going to lie, I kiiind of wish I had gotten the Kady one (especially as I haven’t yet read the second book in the series), but I love this one because it’s blue and is one of my favorite colors! I also really like the sparkles on top. This one is “sweet honeydew” scented, and it definitely has a very fruity, very strong scent.

Star Wars inspired watercolor bookmark

You can’t have an Across the Galaxy themed box without something from Star Wars, right? (The answer is right. Absolutely right. It would be practically sacrilegious.) So OwlCrate included this insanely beautiful watercolor bookmark in classic galaxy shades of pink and purple. It is created by Lexy Olivia, and features perhaps the most famous quote of all from Star Wars!

Seriously can’t get over how pretty it is.

But this next item…blew. My. Mind.

Galaxy Print Infinity Scarf

It’s a galaxy print scarf!!!! This was literally my face when I opened this:

What do you mean I’m not a cat? How do you know for sure?

Oh my God it is so pretty. If you haven’t already figured it out, I pretty much love galaxy print anything, but I never would have thought to look for a galaxy print scarf. Thankfully, OwlCrate is one step ahead of me, providing me with hands down the cutest wearable items. It’s my favorite colors, and it’s galaxy print, and it’s an infinity scarf (infinity scarf > regular scarf any day), and it’s an OwlCrate exclusive! Can’t ask for much more than that.

But, actually there is much more than that. Because this box also included the OwlCrate specific materials, as always: spoiler card, magazine, and themed pin (which is so, so cute).

And, of course, the real meat of the meal: the book!

This month’s book is…

Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston

Instagram // @samsaraparchment

Heart of Iron is essentially a futuristic, space-y retelling of Anastasia. It stars Ana, an orphan on the run who is searching for a lost ship along with her best friend, who happens to be an android. She accidentally gets tangled up with an enemy, which results in both of them becoming fugitives who are running from the law. This definitely caught my attention right away, especially because it takes place in space!

Also, this book features stained pages that are a beautiful shade of purple! Overall, the book itself is just so pretty—the cover, the pages, everything.

It is also signed by the author, and this one included a really cute letter from the author (which opened with “I LOVE SPACE”, so already, we are on exactly the same page) as well as a poster featuring illustrations of some of the characters, so that’s pretty cool!

Next month’s theme is Shadows & Secrets, and it’s going to feature items from some of my favorite series, Harry Potter and The Mortal Instruments, as well as items from Six of Crows and The Young Elites. Aaaand, even better, they’ve already leaked that it will include COFFEE!!!

AKA life blood…from Bones Coffee Company!

So, what did everyone else think? Did you get this box? What was your favorite item? What do you think will be in the April box? Let me know in the comments! You know I’d love to talk. <3
